It was early morning. Like, super early morning. Like. So early the sky was only just starting to lighten up. But this was by design! Tuliptuft had wanted to get an early start on the training before the sun rose and set everything on fire. Metaphorically.

Tuliptuft led her poor apprentice across the hills, headed toward a specific spot. She kept her ears perked, for both pawsteps and beating wings. It was still dark enough for owls to be a problem out in the open.

Without looking over her shoulder, Tuliptuft called to Lilypaw, "How ya doin' back there, mite? Still awake or are ya sleep walkin'?"

Even though Lilypaw wasn’t a late riser, she wasn’t an early bird either. So, for them to be up and moving before sun up, while not uncommon, just plain sucked. She tried to follow suit with what Tuliptuft was doing and paying attention to the surroundings, but she wasn’t having the best luck.

As they crossed the hills she looked around trying to see if anything would hint at what her mentor had planned. The sound of the older cat asking how she was doing turned her attention back to the figure before her. “I’m still awake, so I’m still good I think.” As if to emphasize the bit of doubt to she had to that statement, a Yawn slipped out before she caught it.

“so, what are we working on?” she asked speeding up to get a little closer to the other feline. She was gonna try her best regardless of what it was, but either way it would be nice to know. A sound from one of the trees made her jump a bit as she waited for a reply, which she hopped wasn't noticed but it was possible. To be fair to herself it was still twilight so things did look slightly different. Though she did know it was stuff she'd seen many times before.
