PERSONALITY
STRENGTHS ► compassionate, good with herbs. gentle-natured and full of love for her clanmates. as fierce as any other shadowclan cat and not afraid to battle. outspoken and brave, not afraid to stand up to other cats. a good source of sound advice. responsible and organized, just about prepared for whatever is thrown at her
WEAKNESS ► restless dreamer. dusklight often cannot tell what is just a dream and what is prophecy, and thus sees omens in many things. although a very gentle cat, dusklight might be a little too quick to take out her claws. will give her advice regardless if someone wants it or not. dusklight also tends to be very opinionated, and knows no fear in telling everyone exactly what she thinks. a little bit of a neat-freak
LIKES ► herb-gathering, helping, nosing in on kits and elders with little warning. a particularly soft nest, grooming and keeping very clean. stepping on snow in leaf-bare and washing her paws in clear puddles. taking very long walks around the territory, particularly in newleaf and greenleaf. gossiping. lots and lots of gossiping
DISLIKES ► the smell of prey lingering to her coat. garlic-scent on her paws. pollen in her nose and medicinal herbs lingering on her tongue. her patients wiggling out of their nests. sunny days (it feels bad on her too-thick coat), plucking birds and fur caught in her mouth
STARCLAN ► hard believer, but starclan does not whisper as clearly in dusklight's ears as she thinks they do
TRADING ► open to trading, but she is not very generous with her herbs and does not expect to anyone to be very generous to her, either
HEALING OUTSIDERS ► would generally not leave a cat wounded and bleeding. she'll help warriors and apprentices but only give them the bare minimum to get back to their own camp. as per clan code, dusklight would never leave a kit to die and would take it back for proper care, even if it scented of another clan, and would encourage elders to stay in the medicine den until they were fit to return to their camp, too. elder loners will not be invited, only kits

The youngest of her litter, Dusk-kit spent her kittenhood in pleasantries, growing fairly close with her sibling [ginger tabby] and sticking her nose wherever it didn't belong. In particular, Dusk-kit was fascinated with the medicine den, the ill-tempered medicine cat Snowthistle, and the inner workings of herbs. It was a surprise to no one when, at six moons, Duskpaw became the apprentice medicine cat.
Her mentor taught her the ins and outs of being a medicine cat and Duskpaw soaked up every bit of information like a sponge, as well as just about every which way of cussing. Through viewing Snowthistle's poor bedside manner did Duskpaw learn to treat Shadowclan with kinder eyes than her mentor did, but also learned to be just as fierce and just as strong-willed.
She graduated at sixteen moons old and was praised for her gentle nature and skills as a medicine cat. Dusklight was the name suggested by her mentor, partially for her kindness, and partially after the 'Very Good Friend' Snowthistle had lost just moons before, Firelight.
Dusklight remained quite close with [ginger tabby]. but began getting increasingly distant with [grey tabby], who were not on particularly great terms to begin with, which began encouraging Dusklight to spend more and more time gathering herbs or staying in her den re-ordering and re-organizing.
At thirty-two moons, Snowthistle retired to the elder den, with Dusklight very loudly proclaiming she was much too young to retire. Regardless, as Shadowclan's lone medicine cat, Dusklight began to feel increasing pressure on her shoulders.
This pressure was only relieved recently when she met [mate], who initially offered her freshkill, and then offered to help find herbs in [mate's clan territory] to avoid patrols. Though neither cat's loyalty to their own clans are in question, they are eventually going to have to wake up from their early-day relationship haze and address that there are significant clan code complications at play.
